The LawLers Story

LawLers Barbecue was born out of a deep-rooted love for Southern tradition and a firm belief that the magic of great barbecue doesn’t lie in fancy ingredients or flashy techniques, but in the artful blend of patience, passion and the transformative power of smoke and time. 

Our story began in 1978 in the heart of the Tennessee Valley, where life progresses at its own slow and steady pace. Armed with nothing more than an open pit smoker and a humble dream, Philip Lawler turned his passion for barbecue into a thriving business by celebrating time-honored traditions and sharing generously with family and friends.

At LawLers, we believe that great barbecue is much more than just great food.  It’s about community.  It’s about legacy.  It’s rooted in tradition and rich in history.  Our old-fashioned recipes are the heart and soul of everything we do, and we’re forever grateful for the opportunity to share our rich culinary heritage with the communities we now serve.  

We believe there’s honor in service.  We exist to bring people together, connect with our communities and treat everyone like family.  Providing a warm, inviting space where memories are created over a shared meal is just as important to us as the food we serve. 

As we look toward the future, we remain steadfast in our commitment to uphold the traditions, techniques and tickled pink service standards that have served as our foundation for over 40 years.
