We’re famous for being the best, friendliest BBQ in Cullman, AL -- that’s because we know how to do good BBQ and we know how lucky we are to be a part of a community like Cullman.

Whether you’re looking for comfort food or wanting to know why folks in Alabama value our heritage so much, Cullman offers a cultural experience for every style of traveler.

Cullman’s story starts in the late 1800s when it was founded by Colonel John Gottfried Cullmann, who had dreams of building a community made of working immigrants like himself, who he hoped to bring from his home country of Germany. He knew the South was largely unsettled and began to explore North Alabama. The North-South Railroad had just been built from Decatur to Montgomery and Cullman decided to contract nearly 350,000 acres from the railroad to build his dream community. The town would eventually be named after Colonel Cullmann (though, it would lose one “n”) and grow into a thriving historical community.

Today, you can visit the many monuments Cullman has to offer, including vast parks, the historic Train Depot, Cullman County Museum, and St. Bernard Abbey. Cullman has a rich historic and religious history that ties it to the very foundations of Alabama’s most prized values -- community, history, family, friendliness, and good food.

LawLers Barbecue is a great central location to start your journey, located in the midst of any attraction you might want to visit. In between exploring this great town, you can stop for slow-cooked BBQ smothered in our famous sauces and paired with your choice of our home cooked sides. We pride ourselves on being part of Alabama’s long tradition of well made food, as well as continuing the historic practice of offering friendly service and a family-oriented environment to you and your loved ones. Much like Cullmann sought to bring hard-working families together, we strive to bring you and your family closer together through the power of the best BBQ in Cullman, AL.
